About our Founder and President

Richard Goodheart
Richard Goodheart has been involved in the scientific instrument industry for the last 35 years.  After achieving his first degree in chemistry Richard joined Wilson Greatbatch Ltd (now part of the Integer family of medical companies, NYSE; ITGR) working on high energy density, long life, lithium-ion primary batteries for medical applications; ostensibly cardiac pacemakers and implantable dosing pumps for chronic diseases such as diabetes.  

After leaving the research world, Richard turned his attention to the commercial side of the scientific instrumentation business starting out as a technical specialist working to support field sales, then being promoted to a full-time sales role and then leading regional and north American sales teams, finally managing sales teams globally.  

​​​​​​​Richard is adept at building and managing commercial teams in diverse cultures and has conducted business in over 35 countries.  Richard’s business experience spans from venture-capital backed start-ups, to SME’s, to large fortune 500 companies which includes being part of corporate development teams involved in M&A.

To build on his business acumen and management skills, Richard has participated in and completed course work at The Harvard Business School and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Most recently, Richard was a Director and member of the M3 board of directors at Carl Zeiss AG based in Oberkochen, Germany.
